Claire Williams is NWEH’s in-house authority on real-world clinical trial safety, research ethics and regulatory compliance. With a master’s-Pharmacovigilance, proving advanced expertise in clinical trial safety and regulatory science. As Head of Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Services at NWEH, she specialises in the delivery of near real-time safety oversight within pragmatic and electronically enabled clinical trials, helping bridge the gap between traditional pharmacovigilance and modern real-world research methodologies.

As Chair of the Central Greater Manchester Research Ethics Committee, Claire brings independent oversight experience and deep understanding of UK research governance frameworks.

Claire is also Co-Lead role on the NWEH Women’s Health Initiative, and a founding member of the Healthcare & Innovation Women’s Leadership Network, championing improved representation of women in research and addressing systemic barriers that have historically excluded female patients from clinical research.

Claire is a recognised voice beyond NWEH, contributing to MHRA and HRA policy, serving as an expert witness in parliamentary proceedings, and speaking at industry conferences on real -time safety monitoring, and inclusive trial design.
